Yes, another year has passed and Bros are still alive and ticking! We've had many great releases in 2002, and even bigger projects are on the way in 2003! These past two months have been quite hectic around here, with releases by Soraya Benitez, "Vive" (BROS12001) and Les Ours, "Chansons Consignées" (BROS12002). Both have already been critically acclaimed by both press and public and were on many Christmas lists this year!!

    NEWS FROM OUR ARTISTS

    Soraya Benitez

With her appearance at "Le Show du Refuge" on Radio Canada (Dec. 8th), where she practically blew every other singer away with a rendition of her own "Con Horizontes de Seda", and her concert-launch at le Kola Note on December 12th, Soraya Benitez is now on her way in getting the recognition she deserves internationally. Her new album is a perfect blend of Canción, Tango, Milonga and traditional Venezuelan music and, with the help of Victor Simon as arranger and pianist, "Vive" is a much more vibrant album than it's predecessor, "Mujer" and will surely be an even bigger seller.

    Les Ours

French country music at it's best, they've already won many hearts in and around the province. This neo-country sextet won the crowd at their "Coup de Coeur Francophone" show on November 5th and released their new album that very same day. We've already had many demands for it in the Montreal and Outaouais region and, with extensive touring in the next few months and festival season just around the bend, you'll be hearing much more of this band in the near future!

    Nanette Workman

Nanette is very busy producing her next album, which should be out Spring 2003. Her hit single, "Take the Devil by the Horns", is still charting across the province and, with her present stint as radio host for the noon hour show at COOL-FM and her numerous appearances on various television programs and other gigs, we don't think she ever rests!

    Junkyard Dogs

They've achieved the impossible last month!… They've not only received a review from Toronto's widely-read Now Magazine, but also got 4 STARS!!! (NNNN, to be exact) This must be a first for a Quebec-based group! And why shouldn't they be acclaimed, pray tell? "Bow Wow" is a raw, original blues-rock masterpiece for fans of this genre, and I know they're many, across Canada!!

    FYI,

For those who know and love Maria Del Mar Bonet, try and hold on to your hard-earned cash for a month or two before buying her album. We are in the midst of licensing the album for Canada and it should be a done deal and in stores early 2003, with a better price!

And lastly, the whole Bros team would like to wish everyone a wonderful New Year 2003. All questions, suggestions and comments are welcome at productions@bros.ca.
